Frederick Lanza, 86, of Plymouth Meeting, died on February 22, 2010 at Montgomery Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth T. “Betty” (Turner) Lanza for over 58 years.

He was born in Morgantown, WV on June 25, 1923 to the late Thomas and Giovanina (Telerico) Lanza.

He attended Canonsburg High School in PA.

Fred was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army with rank of Technician 4th class.

He served with the 1375th Signal Company Wing.

He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal, Asiatic Theater Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star and the WWII Victory Medal.

Mr. Lanza was the owner and operator of Lanza Tire Service in the Germantown section of Philadelphia for 25 years.

He enjoyed the outdoors and working in his yard; most of all loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by 3 daughters: Kathleen Vaughn of Plymouth Meeting, Mary Carbo (James) of Blue Bell, Denise Hodges (Christopher) of Plymouth Meeting, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by all his siblings Michael and Frank Lanza, Anna Galliano, Mary DeVitis.
